Falls Shrooms are coming to an end :(
This has been a heck of a Fall season to be a mushroom farmer and Wild forager. My outdoor Shiitake farm performed fantastically. The perfect combination of heat and water to make the fungi fruit! I barely had to turn of my misters at all this season.
The shiitake pictured is grown on Oak logs. The mighty Oak tree the giver of life. Oaks have endless amount of uses and mushroom mycelium loves them! No disrespect to mushroom grown indoors on substrate but you cant touch the quality and flavor of shiitake when it comes from the wild.
You wont find shiitake like these in the stores. At my current rate of production my shiitake only make it into the hands of some of the best chefs I know. Ill say this,
my shiitake goes well on a Pie. I increase my production every year and plan to do so year by year.
If interested in growing your own Shiitake Mushrooms please comment your email on this blog post then join my mailing list and create an account and Stay tuned for more information in the near future!
Thank you to all who will take the time out of their day to read this blog ! I hope to improve on the information and content of it as time goes on!
